Watching them is just like attending in person, but from the comfort of your home, on your schedule. You will see the instructor, present examples, provide explanations on the board, and go through the training manual you will receive at home. It’s just like being in class.

What is the difference between a webinar and online training ?

Webinar

A collective online meeting at a specific date and time.
Attendance is mandatory to complete the training.

SALES DEPARTMENT

What happens when a customer arrives at the dealership ?

The receptionist directs customers to the on-duty salesperson based on a daily rotation schedule established by the sales manager.
This system ensures equal customer distribution.
Each salesperson typically meets 12 to 15 customers per week.

How are sales consultants paid ?

Most dealerships offer a base salary between $7,500 and $12,500 annually, plus commissions.
Example of a commission-based sale:
Vehicle sale price: $25,000
Average gross profit margin: 8%–12%
Example at 10%: $25,000 × 10% = $2,500 gross profit
$2,500 × 20% commission = $500 commission

How many can you sell ?

In general, during the first year, the objective is approximately 2 sales per week, for a total of around 100 vehicles sold in the first year.

How much can you earn by the end of the year ?

Based on the results of our graduates, you could expect to earn between
$65,000 and $105,000 in your first year.

GENERAL EMPLOYMENT CONDITIONS

Do you have to work 60 hours per week ?

No. Typically, the sales manager will provide a schedule based on 37 to 42 hours per week on the floor.
However, you are free to work more if you wish, it’s your business !

Are you self-employed ?

No. You are an employee, paid weekly or biweekly, and all deductions and contributions are taken directly from your gross income.

Do you get time off and vacation ?

Yes. You have days off based on your schedule, as well as annual vacation time.

Is a high school diploma required ?

No. It is not mandatory.

Why do I need a valid driver's licence ?

Because as part of your role, you will be required to conduct test drives with clients and move vehicles around the dealership lot.

How do I register ?

Why is CATC more affordable ?

CATC was created to make professional automotive sales training more accessible to students across Canada.
Our 11-hour online program focuses on the essential knowledge and practical skills required to begin working as an Automotive Sales Consultant. The training is fully digital, completed at your own pace and designed for students who prefer a structured, self-directed learning experience.
To maintain a more affordable tuition, CATC does not include a printed training manual, personalized job-placement assistance or the same level of individual support offered through CFAQ.
CFAQ provides a more comprehensive 35-hour French-language program that includes a printed training guide, personalized student support and lifelong job-placement assistance. These additional services are reflected in its tuition.
CATC benefits from the automotive training expertise developed by CFAQ since 1991 while offering a more focused and affordable online learning option.
Both programs share the same goal: helping students develop practical skills, professional confidence and a strong foundation for a career in automotive sales.

Does CATC provide job placement assistance ?*

CATC focuses on delivering flexible, high-quality online automotive training and professional certification to learners across Canada. Job placement assistance is not included with CATC programs.
Quebec residents seeking personalized employment assistance may explore the CFAQ program, which includes lifetime job placement support.

Because our courses include immediate lifetime access to digital content, all sales are final, and we are unable to offer refunds, exchanges, or cancellations after purchase.
